Frequently Asked Questions

Most frequent questions and answers

Does phytoplankton feed corals?

Phytoplankton doesn’t feed corals directly. It feeds the copepod population that in turn, causes the pods to breed, and then your corals reap the benefits. There are several animals like clams, bivalves, and non-photosynthetic corals that can consume phytoplankton directly.

I have amphipods. Can I still add copepods?

Adding copepods to your aquarium will help feed your fish and corals.

However, it will be more difficult to establish a colony of copepods with amphipods present in the system.
